Stop by 1420 Douglas St. to see Brianna Bear's ReWilding Douglas Street collage panels. These panels tell a story of a creek buried under the city in this location, supported by archival research and graphic design by Christine Lintott Architects and UVic's EcoVisualization Studio.
Brianna's drawings depict the ecology of the landscape here before it was paved. These are collaged over archival maps and photos showing traces of the creek as it was buried over time. Scan the QR codes for more information.
On Sunday, May 3 from 9.30-11 at The Rotunda (1515 Douglas St.), come celebrate Brianna Bear's ReWilding Douglas Street collage panels with a performance by the Lekwungen Traditional Dancers and a welcome from Nawhea'mowha (Melissa McClurg). Brianna will introduce her art, and hear from Christine Lintott Architects and UVic's EcoVisualization Studio who supported archival research and graphic design.
Brought to you by OUR DWTN as part of the City of Victoria's Rewilding project, this educational art aims to reconnect residents and visitors with the land's natural and cultural heritage.
