This spring, Mike is once again opening the doors to his studio as part of Design Victoria—an annual highlight to the festival's program.

Tucked into his tranquil garden, the studio was designed and built in collaboration with fellow Fernwoodians, HansenBuilt. It’s a space that reflects the way he works: thoughtful, hands-on, and closely connected to material and place. This is where custom commissions take shape, where new lighting products are conceived, tested, and refined, and where ideas move from concept to reality.

During the open studio, you’ll be able to see work in progress, explore finished pieces, and get a closer look at the processes behind them. Whether you’re a designer, architect, private client, or simply curious about how lighting is made, you’re very welcome to join Mike in his studio.

It’s a chance to step inside the workshop, wander through the garden, and have a conversation about craft, collaboration, and what thoughtful lighting can bring to a space.
